Done a lot of quests since my last update. Kinda hard to keep track of everything, though, so you'll just have to take my word for it! Got all 3 of my past-maps. Almost got my Garlaige Lycopodium NPC but there was a real live Yagudo down there that killed me. (I assumed it was part of campaign since I had seen Orcs in Eldieme the day before that would not aggro me. Won't make that mistake again. ALWAYS CHECK! So I just HP'd and I'll get it some other time.

I have a couple of quests flagged that I will need help with. Blue Ribbon Blues and Crying Over Onions.

I killed VE! I ran my supplies to dunes last night. And as is customary, I ran through his area to see if he was up, but there was someone else hunting and I wasn't really there for him, anyway, I was just running supplies and hten I was gonna log. But I get to the far left edge of his spawn and I killed a couple leeches to see if I could get a carby ruby, but they didn't want to give it up... So after I killed a couple, VE pops! So I run at him and cast Dia. He was hitting me pretty hard at first because I didn't have a single buff up, but once I got him enfeebled and got a couple buffs up on me all went well and...

Cool! 1/1! I've camped him a few times, but never claimed, on Dimitrius or Dimi. That will be great for levelling THF and NIN! Now I've got to try my luck with Lizzy! I don't know if I've ever actually claimed Lizzy, so maybe I can have the same luck with her! I would really love a PCC, too, but I won't buy it. Maybe I'll camp Argus sometime... But then again, maybe not. That's kind of a big commitment...

Hmm... dunno what else, unlocked SCH, gonna be levelling that...

Gonna do another post today with a nice long list of things I want/need to do. I'm going to try to just keep editing that one as I think of new things and as I complete goals on the list.

Yay FFXI again!

Ok I got the images fixed. Dunno why it wasn't working with my domain hosting, I'll just use flickr...

Ahh, emergency maintenance. During the exact time I had set aside to play, today... Thank you, SE! :D

So I'm sure anyone reading this LJ knows that I've been back in game since the beginning of April. I didn't really play much in April, just kinda got on to chat. I don't even know if I partied for exp or not... I've played more in May, and I've kinda decided I will stay for a while longer. (Originally I just wanted to pay for April, just to catch up with friends, but my RL is boring and FFXI is neato so...)

I levelled my WHM to 42, so now I can do all my teles, which has been nice for making a quick buck or two to be able to catch up on gear and spells that I passed over while levelling up. I'm taking a break from exping white mage for a while. I am fairly certain it will be my first job to 75, but I want to have its subjobs ready... BLM is at 31 right now, and if I may say so myself, it's outfitted pretty well. :) When I ding 32, which is pretty close, I'll have int in every slot except for body. Baron's Saio is the only body piece I have access to with any int on it that allows me to wear a headpiece and it's 60k, so I'll just stick with Seer's in body slot for now. Once I get BLM to 40, it will be time to unlock Scholar, and begin to level it. I really didn't want to level Scholar because I really don't understand its role in the game. It's like RDM but no refresh or dispel? But it has some traits that look really really nice as a sub for whm, so... I'll get it to 40 and then hopefully I can continue my second trek to WHM75. X_x

I keep forgetting to take pics of things that happen, which makes me really sad. :( I want to post lots of pretty pictures for you guys to look at! My friends have been excellent at helping me out with my new character!! You are the best, all of you!!

Lei has played Moblin Maze Mongers with me a couple times. I think we don't really get how you're supposed to do it, so we just go in with my whm and her 75MNK and she just decimates everything in sight and at the end we get marbles... I think there's supposed to be more to it, but... *shrug* Lei also lent me her harvesting gear AND her seer's gear, which I have been slowly sending back as I purchase them for myself. Thanks, Lei!!!
Ooh, I almost forgot, here's a great shot of Lei and I after our most recent mine-delving. We bought eyepatches with a few of our marbles. YAR, we be pirates! :D

Moir and I have had quite a few adventures! She got me my elshimo marble for my tele-yhoat quest with her amazing th4 thief! She got me my Fei'Yin chest key for tele-vahzl (which I finally got the crystal for on tuesday morning. ;P Then yesterday she killed Marchelute for me so I could get my Blessed Hammer! Her kitty has also killed poor Bloody Butcher (my pankration skele) countless times. THANKS MOIR! >:E
(I wish I had remembered to take pics of all of this! :( :( :( I PROMISE I will take pics the next time we do something together!!! Please remind me!)

Scat has exped with me a couple of times, and the other day we poked around in Yuhtunga Jungle and Sea Serpent Grotto for whm scrolls, and she got me all of them that were available for the next few levels, yay!

Puru and I have exped a couple times, and who can forget how much I used his character when I first started Dimi! Rank 5 and ToAU access by 25, I'm sure that's at least a little bit rare... Hurray for 2boxing!
Here's a pic of us exping last night outside of Kazham. Apparently the exp was really slow for him but I was using exp bands so I was just dandy. We had a PL, so I got to be a nuking machine, and I didn't die once! Yay for nuking to empty MP each fight! :D :D :D

So for the last part of April and the month of May, I've really been having a blast, thanks to my great friends! I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO appreciate that any of you take time out of your day to help me out or just hang out with me. I don't ever want you to think that I take you for granted and don't appreciate the help. I know what you're sacrificing and it means a lot to me! <3 The road ahead is rocky and littered with things I really don't want to have to do, again, but there's also fun to be had, so I'll focus on that for now!

Who's up for some promies!? :D!!!

Small update.

Hmm... let's see. Got WHM31, working on BLM at the moment. I've been told a couple times that BLM isn't used at all as a sub for WHM anymore, but it still has utility spells I like using, and it's a nice job to have at 40 (and I'm strongly thinking about 75ing it. It looks to be not too difficult to solo to 75 if you do it right. o_O) Got the 2 pieces of RSE that are good for my jobs last night in Maze of Shakhrami (Pants & Shoes) tried for carby ruby, but the drop rate on that is ridiculous. I've activated 7 of the 9 maws in the past, just need the 2 on the way to Bastok. I did the quests in Sandy for Angelstone & Deathstone, so I actually have a little money, now! I'm not sure what to do with it, I want to use it to make more money, but I don't know how. Hopefully by the time I get to the gobbiebags needing those stones, the prices will have dropped on the AH. Turns out the item I was trying to track down on Dimitrius (Signed Vermillion Cloak) was given to someone who transferred servers. So there's little chance of ever seeing that, again. T_T Bought a shrimp lantern for 8k last night. Looks like it's gonna be a longass time before I will get WHM75, but it looked like a decent price, so I'll tuck it away for a while. I'll have to keep an eye out for other pop items at a decent looking price, for rostrum pumps and other popped NMs I'll be wanting to hunt. I'll probably be getting BLM & SMN to 40 before I really play with WHM again, so that's kinda sad times, but I enjoy these jobs, too, so it's all good. Been a really obnoxious time leveling BLM, ended up soloing an entire lvl because parties were sucking when I could even get an invite. I need to think about lvling THF too, for some treasure hunter action. (sorry for the wallotext, guess it's not such a small update, after all, I'm just kinda typing thought strings as they enter my mind.) Hmm... what else. Looks like eventually I'mma have to lvl Scholar... This is the first time in the history of FFXI that I'll lvl a job I don't want to lvl... I'll probably end up not hating it too much, it just looks like a chimera of whm blm & rdm with some neato abilities, and some nice ways to stretch out MP, but it looks like a job I'd never want to lvl as a main job. DNC on the other hand looks very fun, and I'll probably be levelling that to at least subjob level at some point. I can't really think of much else to say, I've got a lot of goals and thoughts on my mind, but they're all little things.
I'll have to start taking more screenshots of events and hanging out with friends so I can start posting some pics to this, again. :)

I've decided upon White Mage as my main job. It's not 100% certain, but that's what I'm thinking at the moment. Once I get 42, I may or may not enlist the help of my friends to obtain the elemental avatars and Fenrir, so that I can lvl SMN. I will probably level White Mage all the way, though, so I at least have 1 lvl 75 job, as I feel SMN will take quite a while to get to 75. I've been doing LOTS of quests & missions, lately. I've gone from rank 1 to rank 4 in about a week, gotten lots of key items, a few rare/ex items, and collected a great multitude of quested scrolls and other items. I've flagged the Mea & Holla quests, but for the life of me, can't get my Bastok fame high enough for Dem quest! >_<; It's not a big deal because I'm barely over half the lvl required to even cast the spells, but it would put my mind at ease if I could at least have all the quests flagged. I've quested the fun spells for BLM (Drain & Aspir, still need to get Warp 2, but that requires Fei'Yin, so I'll probably wait a bit on that.), gotten my portal charm for 3 mage gate. White mage delevelled while doing one of the rank 3 missions (going to Castle Oztroja basement.) so I'm currently in Qufim seeking a party to get at least 20. Tomorrow morning, I'll begin my Rank 5 mission, which is going to all of the beastmen strongholds & collecting Magicite. I'll bring Puruko along, so it shouldn't prove too hard.
Goals currently in mind: Levelling WHM & BLM, Rank 5, flagging all 3 lvl36 tele quests, getting last key for Kazham (Ghelsba), Getting some gil... (This probably means one of my most hated activities... Farming. Time to lvl Thief!)

Small Update

Hello, everyone. I decided it's time for an update. Not much has change since I last posted. I've done a shit-ton of quests, and now that I have all of the quested spells and gear that I wanted for my first couple jobs through dunes, I ran out of excuses to not go there... My WHM & RDM are now 11 (RDM levelled while collecting quest items from monsters and WHM you'll hear about in a sec.) and my BLM is 10, so it will be quite some time before I need to go back to the 1-10 grind. I think I've been doing ok balancing the game & life. I have been playing a bit more than I'd like to, I should probably get it under a bit more control so I don't get too used to playing it a bunch over break and then have trouble adjusting to school, again. I decided I had put off going to the Dunes for far too long, and last night after collecting both my Dem & Holla crystals, completing my crag crystal collection, and collecting the last of the items I was questing for (Drain for BLM & Friar's Rope for WHM & RDM) I set out for Dunes with a 30/30 inventory packed with the scrolls & gear I'll need to get my Whm through. After setting my HP in Selbina, I got an invite to join party. I nervously accepted and headed to camp. We gathered together at the cave to kill the bats so we could get to a lizard camp, (War & I had no sneak! ^_^) and it had begun. During our hour-long or so party, we had a couple close calls, but luckily, no one died, and everyone levelled at least once! I was truly terrified of playing white mage, again, especially at that level... I done good, though! Now my WHM sits at one of the rocky ledges in the dunes at one of the prime lizard camp spots, awaiting my return. Still not 100% sure about what job to take as a main... WHM is familiar, and I'm used to it and good at it. RDM would get better invites, I've played a similar job, so I wouldn't be bad at it. RDM Maat is notoriously obnoxious, though. I guess we'll see, there's plenty of time to decide!
Until next time!
Dimi

First few days back.

My first few days back in the game have been fabulous! My best friend Scat, whom I had pissed off one too many times in the 2 years I had been playing, is my friend, again! The very first thing I did when I got out of the tutorial cutscene was /sea all Scat, and there she was. I sent her a tell, and the response was lots of OMFG's and WTF's. She was very happy to see me, and I was very happy she was happy to see me! I actually shed a tear or two because I was so happy to have my old friend, back!
I've been questing a bunch around Windurst, and levelling up White Mage and Black Mage. I got WHM to 10, and BLM is nearing 6. I may end up levelling RDM to 10 just so I don't have to come back for a very long time. I can't decide what I will do for my first job to 75. I'm thinking RDM, because the invites shouldn't be hard at all to come by. I'd like to lvl WHM, but I'd also like to have SMN available as a subjob for when I do that. So for now, I think I'll do my jobs in this order: Get WHM & BLM to 40 for RDM subs, RDM to 75, unlock SMN, get all the avatars (maybe wait a while for Diabolos, since there's lots of CoP missions to even get that far, but at least get the elemental ones and Fenrir.) Then get SMN to 40 and decide whether to lvl SMN or WHM to 75 first, then when that one is 75, lvl the other one. I may or may not lvl BLM after the first 3. (This is all assuming I decide to keep playing, whether or not I can handle playing casually.) I don't want to do a lot of endgame stuff that will make me make time commitments to the game, so I probably won't do Dynamis/sky/sea stuff for a while. But I would like to see about getting into a mission static or two once I get high enough level to start working on RoZ & CoP (as well as getting rank 10 in windy.)

Explanation

Thought I'd explain to my friends who read this why I've decided to return, now. It's been over a year since Dimitrius has been gone, and I've been missing him, and all of my friends from the game, dearly! I'd looked on Amazon a couple times, and saw that Vana'diel collection was $19.99! I was debating whether or not to get it, whether or not I thought I could handle playing, again. My friend (one of the top sufferer's of my last addiction to this game) Chad convinced me I could do it, in the end. I'll just have to keep track of time very wisely and never get trapped into something time-consuming before work or school, and I'll need to remember and keep my mind focused on the fact that life > game. If something comes up in real life, if a friend wants to go eat, or if my roommates want to watch a movie, that takes priority. Parties may hate me, and I'll probably never be super-involved in end-game stuff, but I've done that, I'm playing for fun & friends, this time, not accomplishments. (Not saying I accomplished everything I wanted the first time around, or that I was hot shit, but I am proud of what I did get accomplished.)
I'm really pumped to be back. I'll be starting as a male hume, again, same face, and I'll be starting out in Windurst, it always has been and always will be my home. :)
I've not been able to sign on, yet, because of installation/update issues, but when I finally get onto the game, I'll be creating a character named Dimi. (since Dimitrius is obviously already taken...) I thought about using an original name, because I'm sure there will be people who take issue with my selling Dimitrius, but I decided against it. If I'm going to be rmt scum, I may as well be honest with myself and everyone else. :)

The End

2 Weeks ago, I decided to call it quits. The game had sucked away too much of my time & money and although it had given me much to be grateful for, it had caused so much stress, obsession, depression, anxiety, and it wreaked havoc on my life.

I gave myself a week in which to say goodbye to all of my friends and repay the debts I had. I did sell my account, so when you see Dimitrius in game on Carbuncle, it's not me. I made some very very good friends in this game, and I lost a fair share, too. It helped me stay in touch with a couple close real life friends, but it drew me away from most of my other real life friends. I wish I could have played forever and remained very close with the friends I made in game for a much longer time, but I chose real life over the game, because it was slipping away fast. I've been having a much better time with real life since I cut back on my game time and started choosing real life stuff over in game events. It's only gotten better since I cut myself off from Vana'diel completely. I know in my heart that this decision was a wise one, and the only correct one, but it's still a little sore. Time will heal, I suppose. My only regret is that I pissed off Scat one too many times and she hates my guts, now. She was one of my 2 best friends in game, and now I'll most likely never speak with her again.

This will most likely be my last post in this journal. My RL journal is bengal so feel free to friend me there, and e-mail icebloomafoo at gmail just in case I don't see the add right away.

I MPK'd my LS twice in Limbus last night. Accidentally, of course, but for a stupid reason (I was bored, so I was running around popping time chests, even the ones surrounded by mobs.) I got the first chest surrounded by mobs, but then at the second chest surrounded by mobs, one turned around after I popped it, and linked another that killed me. When they went running off after I died, I knew what was up. I got back up (rr1 yay) just long enough to get killed by the floor boss (a goobbue) which also made a visit to the "alliance" After everyone was dead, I got a raise (raise 1 yay) from Reynier and got back up without looking around first. GOOBBUE YAY and it killed everyone again. So everyone gets back up, I get raised (raise 1 yay.) and we kept going. We originally went for win, but ended up walking away with 1 coin each. And since there was a spare coin, we randomed for it. And if it wasn't enough that I MPK'd the LS twice, I won the spare coin, too. I'm sure everyone at Limbus was extremely pissed. Well, everyone but Ghan, She had a pretty good time, XD

Anyway, that's my story for today, I should have taken pictures. More bad stuff happened on the second floor, but that wasn't my fault, so I won't post it. :)

Weekend

I always set myself big game goals on the weekends. I usually get disappointed, but this weekend, I delivered. Saturday, Enin invited my Whm to exp, and since I hadn't touched it since hitting 75, it was running on a 7k buffer, so I exped with him for about 3 hours or so, and believe it or not, we actually got about 37-38k XP in that time, everyone in the party got 3-4 merits, and I capped my XP buffer. It was such a good feeling, going from not too far into 75 to completely capping XP in such a short time. Of course, Puruko killed me later, so now I'm like 120 something TNL 76 XD

However, while he was afk for a while, I decided to try to solo some stuff in Sea, everything there is DC or higher (up to VT I believe, for some sharks, but I could be wrong. I know some of the UFOs are IT++, but they're actually "NMs" so they're impossible to (guage/gauge) I can't believe I can't spell that word, XD Anyway, I was playing with some DC fish, as Whm/Nin27 (so no Utsusemi:Ni) and I still could solo DC fishes. And pretty fast, actually. Of course, they're kinda hard to determine your "soloing skill" on, because when they open their "mouths" they go like, uber-berserk. You do at least twice as much, if not more, damage with their mouths open. However they do at least twice as much, if not more damage with their mouths open. So if my shadows go down, stoneskin usually only takes 1 or 2 hits before going down and then I have to rely on flash + utsusemi or flash + stoneskin which can be scary. Anyway, I can't wait to get Ni so I can start soloing some of the harder stuff like aerns & sharks.

So I played Nin for a while yesterday. I actually got 3 levels on it, which is nice. And I kept all 3 of the skills I care about on ninja capped every time I levelled (except for the last level, because we disbanded not long after that.) The skills I care about on Ninja are throwing, ninjutsu, and katana. Katana is easy enough to cap, and ninjutsu caps pretty easy as long as I'm debuffing, but throwing can be a real hoochie to cap. Then I remembered why I had to stop levelling Ninja before, money. I pretty much ran myself out of all my Blind and slow tools, and It's time for a few gear upgrades. I did get it to 30, though, and 3 levels in one sitting is quite good for Ninja. Especially considering I got about 3-4k of that in the beginning just duoing with a Samurai. (Nin/Brd + Sam/Nin duoing VTs was very fun.) Anyway, I've got to get myself out of this money rut, somehow. I'm sick of being so broke. :(

Also, juggling my real life and Dimi's life is getting harder. Only this time it's the other way around. Instead of blowing off my friends all the time to play the game. I'm blowing off the game all the time to hang out with my friends. Of course I should NEVER feel guilty about this, but I do. I hate ditching LS events and stuff to watch movies or play games with friends. Especially now, when our LS is going through a very very rough patch. I hope stuff picks up pretty soon for the LS. It's such a great LS, the last few weeks have just been really bad for us. It looks like we're really recruiting, now, and handing out more pearls, so hopefully this leads to good things.

Been playing less and less as time goes on. I finally understand what RL > Game means. Before I would plan my RL and run my RL according to Dimi's schedule, but now I live on Casey's schedule. I feel kinda guilty sometimes, and I get mad at myself because it's "just a game," but I don't feel guilty for betraying the game, I feel guilty for not being there for my friends on my linkshell. They're not the game, they're real people. They've helped me and when I play less I feel like I'm betraying them. Especially Puru since he helped me get Loquacious Earring the other day, and I owe him all these coins, and I keep missing Limbus (where the coins come from) because of RL and that makes it take longer for him to get his earring. :(

Hopefully tonight I can get that WHM to 75. It's been on the road to it long enough by now, I think. Still trying to decide what to do once it's 75 with a really decent buffer. (like 30k+)

I should REALLY merit because my BRD & WHM could really use it. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:
WHM:
Devotion x3 (120k XP)
Either Shellra x3 or Shellra, Protectra, and Martyr x1, I haven't decided, yet. (120k XP)
Cure Cast Time x5 (150k XP?)
Either Regen Potency or Barspell Potency x5 (150k XP?)
HP/MP 8 (Haven't decided whether to merit MP or HP. Probably MP since I plan to mostly lvl mage jobs.) But 80 HP isn't anything to scoff at, and I would really like my WHM (and SMN when I get it high enough.) To have at least 1k HP in a general gear up. (IE not silly gears adding HP)
Magic Skills: I don't think I want to do this, yet. It seems like BLM without Elemental Magic merits is "gimp". And since I want to lvl blm someday, I might save this category until then.
Combat Skills: I'd REALLY love to merit club the full 8 merits, but I don't know for sure. I think I'll put 4 into it, that way if I level a DD job I'll still have enough space to fully merit its main weapon.
That's probably it for WHM, at least without being able to look at the merit screen right now.
BRD:
Enmity+ Song x3
I don't know what to do with the rest. Maybe 1 into Enmity- Song, Troubadour, and Nightinggale.
Lullaby Recast x5
not sure on the other 5, maybe Minuet effect? :/
Dunno anything else I'd wanna put into Brd.

Of course that's if I actually do decide to merit instead of starting up another job. I'd love to get started on my SMN and get it to 75, and start pwning like Puru. :P

This weekend

This weekend I had big goals. I wanted to get my Whm to 75 (from 73) and... ok so maybe that was it. But it didn't quite happen. I got REALLY frustrated about it the first two days. But finally on Monday, I got 74, so that made me a bit cheerier. AND I got my Den of Rancor and Temple of Uggalepih maps. AND I got my paintbrush of souls AND an Uggalepih key for when I finally do my windurst missions. Sooooooo I'm a little happier. Maybe WHM 75 tomorrow. Then time to get drg to 32 in preparation for this weekend's static. (If that happens, I'll probably be doing RL stuff instead, but I might find time for the static, hopefully, anyway.) and then once I get drg all prettied up for static, it's time to grind that nin, I want to be able to sub it now more than ever, now that I can finally use Ni on my WHM.

Sorry if that was less than coherent.

Not a whole lot has happened to Dimi since the last post. Moir & Lei are doing a Saturday Static just for fun, and they asked me what jobs I had that I could static with them. Well, I don't have much around their level (32-33ish) so I told them my Dragoon was 30. They didn't say loldrg, so it looks like that's what I'm gonna exp with them. I really should grind my ninja to 32 and static that with them, now that I think about it, but I want to level Dragoon, too! Oh well, I can worry about that after I get WHM to 75. I had planned to get 73 or 74 this weekend, but I didn't end up exping whm at all!

Last night I did the Black Coffin "Assault" for Aht Urhgan Missions with a few LS peeps. Gilghallad was there, too. I know him from EqX so that was cool. I was expecting the fight to be really hard and sucky, like a CoP fight, but it wasn't, it was really easy, actually, I think the only time anyone dropped out of White HP was when a ninja or two took some tp move from the boss.

And everyone oohed and ahhed at the Captain, who was wearing some Corsair AF looking gear, only it was much differently colored. Perhaps Cor Relic, we shall see. :)

A real update for once!

Hmm... let's see, how has the game been treating me?
Ok, I guess. I can't remember exactly how long ago, but it's been a while, now, I fucked up my friendship with one of my 2 closest friends. I couldn't keep my big fat yap closed one too many times. It was hard at first to deal with, going from speaking with her nearly constantly while we were both online to having her ignore me completely. I've gotten as used to it as I'm going to get, for the moment. I send her tells once in a while in the vain hope that she'll have removed me from her blist. I wave to her whenever I see her, but nothing. It's worse than the whole Tsukiko thing. :( Two of the coolest people I know hate my guts. I don't think Tsukiko ever really liked me, but at least she didn't hate me. :/ That's enough on this particular subject.

I love my LS a lot sometimes. I love when we all help eachother out. I love when a few members go to help another member do something, I love when the whole linkshell gets together to take something big down, like Kirin or Jormungand. I love how when we do something awesome, we don't go parading around in game proudly shouting our victory or go boasting on forums. We just enjoy the victory with our fellow shellmates. I love the fact that we don't really worry too much about the highly coveted HNMs. We'd all like items from them, I'm sure, but that's such a drama-filled, unrewarding (to non-cheaters, unless you're extremely lucky) world, I'm glad we avoid it. I love how we do forced pop NMs so often. It's so fun and rewarding to show up to something, fight a strong monster a few times, and walk away with new toys and tools that just keep making the LS better and better. And if the items aren't particularly useful for certain jobs, at least it makes them happy! Of course, there are members in the LS that drive me crazy and just make me want to scream, but doesn' t everyone have at least one person in their LS they don't particularly like?

Puruko, Yankie, and I finally claimed victory over the evil Corsair in the Seagull Grounded Assault Mission at Periqia. I think we spent about a month doing 5-7 of them a week, at least, and we were finally rewarded with our Yigit Gomleks just the other day. I didn't really want the thing or have any desire to get it (at least for brd, I wanted the whole set for whm) when we first started. I was mostly just doing it to help Puruko out, and when I found out Yankie wanted the thing too, to help him get it. (Also I was really grateful that we all got to do this together because Yankie & I haven't really spent time together for a while, so that was really nice.) But as the end got closer, I was more and more excited to get it. It's only a second or so off of the casting times of songs, but that can mean lots and lots of time saved over a long period of time. And it's got decent defense, a little evasion, and no negative stats on it, so it's perfect for pulling. I'll have to do a lot of exping to make up for all the Reraise 1's and Hymnuses I ate whenever I'd die doing the mission, not to mention the Home Points!

I got my WHM AF2 Hat in Dynamis Sandy the other day. I felt kinda bad at first, because we thought everyone who could wear it had one. And so, in Vent, everyone told me to lot. So I lotted, and promptly died. Then eventually the hat drops to me, and everyone congratulates me, cool. But then Taji mentions on Vent that he doesn't have it. I felt so bad, but I wish he had piped up, sooner. Then he said that he didn't really want it and he'd only lot it if he already had every other piece. So I didn't feel so bad after that. If it means that little to him, I guess I'm glad I got it, even though I couldn't use it at the time, because I appreciate it, and I'll get use out of it. I'm thinking of using it pretty much fulltime. It's got no -HP and only 5 less MP than Gold Hairpin, plus it's got Defense, -Enmity, some VIT, and Resist Silence, Really, all in all, not a horrible piece. I think I'm going to stop getting my AF out of storage when I exp WHM, now. VIT has a small effect on Cure V, and that's all I really used the AF1 for, I macroed the hat in for Cure V, but now I think I'll just use the relic one instead. Only thing I'll probably miss is the Legs for Banish Macro and the Body for Enfeebling macro. But both of those skills are capped, so for now, I think I'll just put away the WHM AF and leave it there for a while. I don't get to Enfeeble that much in Exp, and I usually only cast Banishes when I'm sitting on WAY too much MP, so it's not like I'll be wasting MP casting banishes without the AF legs, because I would have been wasting it with them, too! :P Also, I'm usually pretty anal about being VERY efficient with my gear swaps. So I've STILL been using my RSE legs for my max mp macro, because they have 7 more than Blessed Trousers. But I'm gonna mule them, I'm pretty sure. It's only 7 MP, I think I'll also mule the Gold Hairpin for now. It's only 5 more MP than gold hairpin, but it doesn't have anything else that's useful, whereas relic hat has those other bonuses.

I guess I don't know much else. I really need to start posting more, keeping stuff a bit more up to date. I really want to start posting a lot more pictures, too! Liven this place up a bit!

Ooh I remember another thing. I was walking into Windurst the other day to go spend some quality time with my Chocobaby when I see someone shouting, asking if anyone could help a newbie out.
So I asked them what they needed help with, and they said pretty much everything, how to get started, that they used to play a long time ago, but they didn't remember how to play. So I told him when I finished with my Chocobo I'd chat with him. So after I finished playing with FuryFace, I headed to the Mog House area where the guy, Butterflyeffect, was turning in his Adventurer's Certificate. First thing he wanted help with was macros. So together we made his first macro, a curing macro for his White Mage. He said he wanted to take White Mage up so that he'd have a sub for his Black Mage. After we made the cure macro and got him comfortable with all the commands and tags you can put in a macro, I decided we'd do his first quest. So we took on the Star Onion Brigade's first quest. We spent at least 15 minutes trying to track down a Rarab tail just outside of town, but it just wouldn't drop for him, I stayed outside his pt so I wouldn't affect his drops, but he just couldn't get it. So I went back into town and found the vendor and just bought him one. After that I had to go to work or class or something, but I think we added eachother to friend's lists, so I'll have to keep up with how he's doing. It's always so much fun helping out people like that that really appreciate the help. Especially when they don't beg for money or gear or spells or food or anything. He just wanted help starting out, and I was more than happy to help him. :) I also helped another player who randomly sent me a tell get his Ancient Papyrus. It took a little while, but I felt good helping someone out. I know how much of a pain in the ass it is to get help with some of that lower level stuff, sometimes. :(

Wow, it's been a while!! I haven't been playing guild wars much, anymore. I never really did find a guild I really enjoyed. I've been playing Whm, though, on ffxi. I'm so happy to finally be able to wear my blessed gears I've had on mule for so long, and my LS gave me a Noble's Tunic, so that's really cool. I've been able to bring whm to lots more stuff now that it's a bit higher level. I still bring brd to stuff, too, though. I got Hexa Strike on my whm, so now I've just gotta keep on grinding the levels out until I get 75, then I have to cap cap cap those skills, and start meritting for realz ^^ I don't think I'll ever have everything I want in this game, or accomplish everything I want to accomplish, but I'm still having fun, and that's the main part. I just wish it didn't take over my life so much. :( I try to play casually, but I freakin can't. I either have to not play at all or play obsessively.

Haven't really been playing FFXI much, lately. Still been playing Guild Wars. It's kinda fun, I was a little too dismissive of it when I first started it, I guess. I do need to focus, though, and get at least one job to the cap. I have 2 jobs halfway, now, at 10, Ranger/Monk, and Elementalist/Mesmer. I have a third at 7, Necromancer/Elementalist, and I'm saving the last character slot for Warrior/Monk, I think. I like my Ranger, he's what I first started with, I still have my very first Pet, and I really like having the pet, it's just something small and simple but it makes me enjoy the profession. My Elementalist is fun, too. I'm really having loads of fun with my Necromancer. My Necromancer is actually a girl, she's kinda my tribute to Kylia, lol, although she wasn't named after her or anything. My warrior will be a true tribute to Kern, with his name, but I can't figure out what to have for the last name, yet.

I did get on FFXI for a couple hours yesterday & helped Scat get her Ninja Testimony for her Maat fight, which she won 1/1, I'm so proud of her, she'll probably be 75 next time I see her, hehe.

Ugh, SE giving me a hard time. -_-;
I cancelled my Content IDs on June First before I was billed, and they charged me anyway. So I sent an e-mail and they say they don't refund. But I cancelled before I was billed so I really shouldn't have been billed at all. It probably won't go anywhere but I'm gonna keep bugging them about it. I have to do it via e-mail because their phone number is a joke. I was on hold for like 10 minutes.

I've been playing Guild Wars a little. It's not so bad, really. It's not a great game, but it passes the time and hey, it's free. I've been playing a new character I made, an Elementalist/Mesmer, he's level 7 so far, getting close to level 8. It's so crazy that the level cap in that game is 20, lol. I wonder how long it will take me to get to 20. My Ranger is level 9, Dimitrius Elerana, I'll probably start playing him once in a while, too, but for now I'm having fun with Ceth Miir, that's my Elementalist/Mesmer's name is. Blowing stuff up is fun, but so is running around with my pet jaguar leopard thingy and shooting stuff with a bow & arrow, :P I don't really have any healing with Elementalist. There's one skill I get that's a buff. Whenever I cast any spell with it, it heals me for twice that spell's energy cost. And I have a Mesmer skill that does a little bit of damage to the enemy and gives me lots of health, so that combined with the elementalist skill gives me a good chunk of health back, and there are a few Damage Over Time spells I get, so I can take stuff down fairly well. More than one enemy is scary, sometimes, but the game overall is kinda fun. It really sucks on my laptop, though, I think even worse than FFXI. I joined a social guild today. They didn't seem to talkative, but maybe it was just a quiet part of the day. Hopefully I can find a little "family" like guild. I really miss VictoriousFinale, if I didn't have a shell like that when I first started FFXI, I don't know if I'd be playing anymore. I probably wouldn't have played much more than a few months.

Anyway, yeah. SE is being a dick. :)

Got 64 whm, today. :D One more level for Banish III and Darksteel Maul, then 3 more for Noble's Tunic (who knows when I'll see one, certainly can't afford it, now,) then 2 more for Blessed gear (Already on mule, :D) 2 more for Errant, not really a big deal, will only use body and I already have Puru's for Brd since he never uses it. Then the last stretch of 5. Hopefully at 72 or 73 I start getting invited to Mnkburns, I am pretty sure I have the MP conservation skills for it, and I definitely know it's good XP (with good people, of course) from doing a few on Brd. I'm thinking that now my White Mage is probably high enough to start bringing it to events and stuff instead of Bard, we have an abundance of Bards, but I don't think we have that many White Mage mains. (Granted I'm not a fully fledged Whm75 yet, but there will be other 75's around to do raises and stuff, and I can do most of the rest of a White Mage's role in endgame. Exciting times. :) I don't hate Exp as much on my White Mage as I do on Bard. That may change, I hope I don't burn myself out because I really do love White Mage. I still get impatient after an hour or two of exping, especially if it's lower-end exp. 7k and I don't whine too much, but 9k+ and I'm yours. :P

JP PT Exitement

So today I get a JP invite, which I'm kinda hesitant to respond to, because I noticed the person that invited me was someone's replacement from the party I'd just bailed on. I thought maybe they got him to ask me to join them, but I saw he was leader, and in town, not in Bibiki, so I joined. And he fills the party. 5 JP 1 NA. So we head to camp, and start fighting. And we're fighting Colibris, and they have Return Magic (That's what I'll call it anyway, because it's pretty much the same as the Return Magic ability Vivi gets in FF9.) When you cast something on them, they cast it right back on you. Well... I'm not quite sure how it works, most of the time they would cast my spells back at me, but one time it tried to Flash the tank, and once it Slowed one of our Blue Mages. Anyway, I notice the Blm was curing over my regens a lot. And he kept making mention of it, saying stuff in autotranslate like "Black Mage Cure Work" "Black Mage Cure Play" and I was like "White Mage Regen ;;" and he didn't say anything so I was like, ok, whatever. So some time goes by and he keeps mentioning it so I'm like "What, are you trying to tell me to Cure? Because I'm using Regens instead." and he said "White Mage Haste Work" and I was like... "Ok, so you're not yelling at me? o.O" and he said "White Mage Good Job! w" and I was like Ohhhhhhhh he's curing and he's telling me he'll cure, because he can't nuke because the bird nukes back! It was pretty funny once we got it all figured out.

Well, I put a little time & money into Clothcrafting today, got it to 23, I'm supposedly on a nice cheap stretch to 30 now with some lure, can't remember which. I'm gonna farm the ingredients in KRT with my Bst, though, so hopefully I can pack on a level or two on that job while I get the ingredients for this synth. :)
